Conan O'Brien: King of Social Media

When Conan O'Brien hits stage this November, he won't be string-dancing to an empty audience. Since leaving NBC, the funnyman has amassed an army of followers under the banner of Team Coco, a band of loyal fans that has grown thanks to O'Brien's innovative use of social media. Using almost every online tool available, from Facebook to Twitter, YouTube to Foursquare, the late night host shows that social media is a force to be reckoned with. Case in point: Conan has more than 1.7 million followers on Twitter. His arch nemesis Jay Leno? A paltry 89,689.
Here's how Conan has dominated in the digital age.

Subscription Links

This week when we met to discuss your blog I asked that each of you add the "Subscription Links" gadget to your blog. Most of you have already done this but about half have not. The Subscription Links gadget provides an easy way for you to keep up with everyones blogs by subscribing to their RSS feed. I've spent the last hour adding all of you to my Google reader (RSS reader) and I have to say I'm pleased with how easy it was to setup. If you have a google account or someone other than google I'd recommend subscribing to all of your fellow classmates blogs.

Still don't get what an RSS feed is? Read about it over at Wikipedia.

The folks who have yet to set up their Subscription Links are:
Rebekah, Tiffany, Nichole P., Nelson, Michelle, Mike, Marcee, Lindsay, Jeremy, Jenni Green, Jayne, Ian and Danielle.

Vincent Laforet does it again – gets the Canon EOS-1D MKIV early and produces a movie

Vincent Laforet gets to shock the world again releasing the world’s first Canon EOS-1D MKIV movie – just as the camera is announced by Canon too! And Vincent says that not only does this camera take us a bunch of steps up from the original (and from the 5D2), it is a “paradigm shift” because of the low light capabilities of the Canon EOS-1D MKIV… “I think it’s safe to say that every single filmmaker and photographer has always dreamed of cameras that can see what our naked eyes can see. This time these cameras can actually see more. Sure – they may not have the dynamic ranges of our eyes just yet – but they see more than my naked eyes can see in low light.” Please read Vincent’s post for more amazing details about this video!

One D and four Marks

New Canon 1D Mark IV was made official this morning with an official press release from the fellas themselves. The camera boasts all the expected upgrades like HD video updated Digic 4 processors and an extreme ISO of 102,400 (which I believe gives the photographer the ability to take pictures in the dark. Like super dark. Like stuff that not even your own eye can see). Who's looking forward to the folks over at Fuji announcing their new ISO 1 billion next week?
