Yesterday I attended a very informative lecture by commercial photographer David Strohl. The lecture's title was "Tips On Survival: How to get started in the world of editorial and commercial Photogrpahy". Strohl was hitting on points that all students should be aware of.
Here are a few:
- You HAVE to work hard
- You HAVE to know how to do everything (retouching, lighting, networking, PR, editing and digital delivery of files)
- There are no excuses (my favorite)
- People suck
- Always have an assistant
The above photo was the last slide of his powerpoint and I just had to snag a shot for all to see. If you're interested in seeing more of his work click here
